Analysis of a Successful Hubber: Misha
75In past Hubs, I have looked at two other Hubbers who have found success and make more than $1000 per month at HubPages using totally different methods and techniques. If you haven't had a chance, please review my analysis of Ryan Kett and Nelle Hoxie to get a sense of how they make a nice chunk of change online.
My third analysis of successful Hubbers will be focusing on Misha. I picked him since he uses a third, entirely different strategy of making money with HubPages. Looking at what Misha does can really open your eyes to the possibility that exists on the internet. But as always, there is a lot of hard work involved. So, let's look at what makes Misha special and why he inspires me to work both harder and smarter to achieve success online.
Limited Number of Hubs
The first thing that stands out when comparing the others against Misha is that Misha only has a limited number of Hubs. In fact, he has only published 21 Hubs total. And yet Misha has made more than $100 in a single day! That works out to be $3000 per month for the mathematically challenged. How is this possible? It seems absolutely insane that he can make an average of about $5 per Hub each day. I can't even make $5 per Hub in a month.
The other thing that you should notice is that Misha's Hubs don't jump out at you. They are on various topics but don't strike you as extremely commercial or money making Hubs. And he still makes a ton of money. So how does he do this?

Backlinks Galore
Misha is a perfect illustration of the power of backlinks on the internet. While others choose to publish lots of content, Misha has the effective use of backlinking down to a science. You can learn a lot by reading Misha's Hubs on backlinks.
Misha really opened my eyes to the power of backlinking and I have been working to increase my backlinks on the internet. Of course to this point I have not been as effective as Misha but I have noticed a steady increase in traffic by spending more effort on this aspect of my internet hobby.
Building a Brand
The other characteristic that I think helps make Misha successful is that he has built himself into a brand here on HubPages. If I mention Misha's name, I am sure that many of you automatically think of his avatar picture and a witty, no-nonsense guy.
Misha has over 2400 followers and has posted almost 15,000 times to the forum. That provides a lot of exposure which I believe helps his internet success. Those followers could easily provide additional backlinks to his Hubs. They provide the potential for numerous comments on his Hubs which also help in the SERPs since each comment is viewed as new content.
So, even though Misha does not spend a lot of time writing Hubs, he does spend his time backlinking and building up himself as a brand which is marketing. Misha is out pounding the internet pavement marketing himself and his 21 Hubs which is the key to his success. It is a totally different way of doing things than Ryan or Nelle, but is just as lucrative (if not more so).
Here's to Misha and his continued success. I wish him the best and strive to be half as successful in twice the time.

Comment on Misha's SuccessLoading...
I never realized that Misha had so few hubs. You're right, he has become a household name on Hubpages. Thanks for sharing this.
I was wondering how I can make steady progress on the bookmarking project I have taken on and still write any new hubs. If he has only 21, I guess I can stop worrying about that and just keep on building backlinks. I had never thought of forum participation and gaining followers in that light. Thanks for another informative case study, and keep them coming.
Your survey of successful hubbers is really helping me grasp this "hobby" and see my way ahead as to what the choices are in hubbing, and likely which ones to choose.
"Google HomePage" is a modern classic.
I hope you're auditing these earnings claims though - I've learnt from the Warrior Forum that AdSense earnings inflation is rampant.
Misha is one of my favourites! *loves Misha, my Russian revolutionary!*
Wonderful write up. rated up, useful and bookmarked so I can read it over and over.
Misha is an awesome hub writer, and you are so correct on teh surface they don't look so "money wise" but with teh backlinks they are money makers... bravo for this hub!
hey, newbies like me can learn a lot from your hub as well as misha's. Thanks for the write up.
Thanks for some helpful info. he was doing a method but it no longer works which is the way the internet goes. Always dynamic and challenging. Stay in the game it is exciting.
What a great hub, I think you are well on your way, thanks for the information, many of us could really use it, take good care,
Making "Misha Money" is becoming an obsession for me. . . . .so thanks for your hub, you get a new follower for it.
I have zero intention of having few hubs-every time I publish my views go way up; I AM looking at new places to backlink from. This will be my new "thing."
This is great, Misha has been my inspiration in returning to hubpages and learning techniques from professionals who not only know what they are doing but also try to help others to get the same results. I like Misha, because I have never seen him go around tooting his own horn, or behave in a condescending behavior in regards to earnings.
Misha has been a big inspiration and encouragement to me but I still have a long way to go to follow his amazing success here!
This is very useful hub. I have the similar strategy, I read hubs from successful writers and try to figure out what makes them so successful. I try to learn from them in order to have more success of my own.
I liked this hub, now I going to read the other two.
Thanks!
I tried to interview the man for my Leadership in INT class at college, but he must have his hub mail closed down or was uninterested. He must be doing something right.
I have read most of his hubs, one thing ai like about him is he willing to share some of his secret in his success.
Interesting hub about Misha, he is truly an inspiration to me here in the HubPages community. I've learnt a lot from his hubs and forum discussions. He's got great marketing strategies. If he can, anyone can!
Very useful hub! Thanks for sharing your findings! I bookmarked it.
Sure sad to see that the links to Misha's hubs on backlinking are gone and marked as "no longer published".
I don't do a lot of backlinking but was wondering what his (Misha's) thoughts were on the subject.
Is Misha one of the members who pulled out after Panda and all the changes? Sad, seems from all comments he is one heck of a guy.
