How I Increased My HubPages Traffic by 20% This Month
76One of the biggest problems that I have had when writing is generating traffic. For some, I suppose it comes fairly easily. That is certainly not true for me. But I have been able to increase my HubPages traffic by a large margin this past month and would like to share with you exactly how I have been able to do it.
Ultimately, it is really a very simple process and I have used something similar to increase the traffic to my own blogs. In fact, those blogs combined have about half the amount of traffic as my complete complement of Hubs. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find that they will eventually surpass the amount of traffic that I get with HubPages.
The Secret to More Traffic?
There really isn't any special trick or technique to getting more traffic whether at HubPages or any other website for that matter. It simply boils down to hard work and creating more content.
In the month of January, I have published a total of nine Hubs (this one is number 10). The views to those Hubs have contributed an additional 20% over and above the baseline traffic that I can expect month to month.
Furthermore, those Hubs are continuing to get additional views each and every day which simply adds to the baseline traffic that I should expect on a daily basis.
The same thing is happening at the blogs that I own. When I first started, a new article might get about 10 views. Then as time goes on and more regular readers begin to frequent the blog, a new article gets 50 views plus additional views daily. Add this up over 3 posts per week and the traffic can start to become substantial.
I have already written over 100 posts with my first blog and am up to 11 with my newest blog. Adding at a rate of 3 per week will mean that I will have an extra 300 posts by the end of this year meaning that my total number of articles will be almost 4 times what I have now.
Imagine if having four times the number of posts equates to four times the amount of traffic and four times the earnings.
An Online Portfolio
Think about your own Hubs or blogs. Imagine that each article is like a stock in the stock market that pays dividends on a regular basis. That is what you are creating, a little income producing machine that will spit out earnings.
The more articles and posts that you have, the more you stand to benefit from them because they will attract more traffic which is the key to providing the opportunity for earnings. This is why you need to spend time building that portfolio of content on the web.
Some articles will be big hits. Others will be incredible duds. I have my share of those. That is why I am constantly writing. I want to find out what topics are important to my readers. I am getting better at figuring it out, but still need to practice. I would like over half of the articles I write this year to surpass an internal traffic goal that I have for each of them. We will see how it goes.
In the meantime, I will be working and writing much more this year. I want to get to over 400 Hubs by the end of 2012 in addition to over 250 posts on my main blog and over 150 on my newest blog. I will even consider a third blog later this year if I can meet other goals along the way.

Congratulations on increasing your traffic by an impressive 45%! This is quite inspirational for newer members to HubPages. Best of luck in the future with your blogs and here at HP.
Thanks for sharing helpful information you have gleaned through experience.
Yeah, this is great information. Some hubs are easy and quick, but the ones i spend the most time on seem to be the ones that create alot more traffic for me. Great advice. Voted useful and up.
Thanks for this great information. I just joined hubpages a little over a month ago. I'm enjoying every aspect of it. The writing as well as reading such great articles!
Excellent advice. Hard work and good content pay off. Good luck on the 400 hubs!
Well done and very informative to other writers. I have various other avenues of publishing as well, including a blog, several websites and a Pagan news site. At times I will publish on one site and then find I should have published on another site as it would have done better.
The "portfolio" you mention is outstanding and great advice!
Thanks!
More hubs are always better to get more revenue. Write more earn more
after writing so many hubs, page views for latest hubs not crossing 500 page views, after that less or no views.
What's your suggestion?
The wider your footprint on the Internet, the more traffic you will have to your Hubs. Thank you for sharing this helpful and useful advice on gaining more traffic to our Hubs.
Great stock market analogy. I need to have the work ethic that you do.
The one thing we can control is creating more content. I've seen Google results pick up and improve by 15% in just the past 2 or 3 days. Last week, I rewrote titles on about 5 hubs and added a bit more content, too. That really does help. My titles were too general -- often on general business concepts and that's way too competitive. My most successful hub is on cheap gas and top tier gas. It really spiked in traffic today. If I can write a few more like it, then I'll be in good shape (for me anyway).

My goal is also to publish 400+ hubs and since I have been writing more, I do see an increase in traffic. This is a good hub for people to understand and it makes complete sense. The more you write, the more traffic you receive. Great work! Thumbs up! :)
