64I know that there are those who want to know the secret to making money on HubPages. The problem is that once you are told the secret, you really don't want to implement it. That's because the way to make money with HubPages or with any other method on the internet is to keep working hard and stick with it.

I recently noticed a huge spike in traffic to my article on piercing complications. In fact in the past 3 days, I had a boost of about 10% compared to all the other traffic that I had gotten to the Hub since October of 2009 when it was first published. I went to the Hub to look at the stats and found that someone had linked to it from his blog.
The same thing happened to me with my personal finance blog. One of the bloggers with almost 1000 subscribers linked to an article I had written on investment strategy. It ended up becoming the most popular article for the entire year because of that one link.
Hubber Success Stories
There was recently a wonderful analysis of the success stories of the featured Hubbers which is something at which I had been looking, but alocsin did a great job of putting it all together. In his conclusion, he learned that the highest-paid Hubbers had been on HubPages for a minimum of 2 years, but the average was 3.8.
I also noticed that most of them have a lot of Hubs. That is why I am trying to increase the amount of effort that I put into writing and publishing this year. I want to get to 400 total by the end of the year.
Successful Hubbers also have a lot of traffic. This is one area where I am especially weak, but I have noticed that the increased effort associated with publishing Hubs has had a dramatic effect on my level of traffic. It has grown over 11% in the past month alone. I am nowhere near 4,000 views per day which is the minimum in the success stories, but I know that if I could get there, I could be earning quite a bit of money through HubPages.

Encouraging Statistics
These Hubber success stories are really encouraging to me, because they show me that with enough hard work, it will be possible to make hundreds of dollars with HubPages. The response that I have seen in traffic and earnings over the past few months to the increased effort that I have been putting in has been encouraging to say the least. If I can continue to see the gains that I have been seeing, I may very well become a success story myself. That is why I would encourage everyone to keep writing since you never know what might happen.

I have also faced such situation, I have written a hub casually without much expectation, but lot of traffic was coming due to some back link some one as used my hub. Great info about writing continuously here..thanks for SHARING:)

I think writing for your own site is good, too. HubPages provides the opportunity to write outside your site's niche and to discover other topics that might work.
Personally, my priority is writing for my own sites, but I am trying to increase my exposure here and using it for balance as well.
Writing quality articles and lots of them was the lesson I took away from Aurelio's hub. While I am waiting for the hubs to mature, I need to keep cranking them out!
I think it is a good lesson to learn. You might as well stay busy while waiting to earn.
Encouraging hub for those trying to make a living on hubpages. But do you know why you got the spike, and where you able to duplicate that across other hubs? Voting this Up and Interesting.

Very true, you never know when traffic will all of a sudden pick up. I have a Squidoo page that only got about 40 visits per month for the first 6 months. Then all of a sudden it started getting 4,000 visits per month. You just never know! Keep writing!

This statement is true in any area of life - finances, relationships etc. We always want a magic formula and our minds rejects the simple and proven idea of keeping at it and working hard.

I thought his Hub was excellent as well. I came to the same conclusions but hadn't put it down yet so it was good to see. The problem is now I have to come up with other material (LOL).

I totally agree with you on your points. The more effort you put in in writing good hubs, the more you will earn. Nothing good comes easy in life, we all know that.
