The Fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas

My wife and I went to a gymnastics meet in Las Vegas, Nevada with our two sons this past weekend.  Only one of them was involved in the competition.  The other got to tag along and have fun.  We went to see other competitors and spent a fair amount of time at the gym but did try to see some of the sites in and around Las Vegas.

For me, one of the highlights of the trip was seeing the Fountains at the Bellagio.  Last year when it was just me and one son, we stayed off the Las Vegas Strip and drove up and down the street but did not get out and walk.  This year, we walked up and down the strip and were able to see the Fountains in person.  It was absolutely amazing!  Truly the Bellagio Hotel and the Fountains are one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Las Vegas.

The water display is set to music and can be heard for several blocks due to speakers along the sidewalk in front of the hotel.  We were able to catch the end of one show, stayed and watched another, and then saw a third show on our way back to our hotel.  I could have gotten a chair and sat in front of the Bellagio and watched those Fountains all night.  It was that impressive.

The water jets sounded like cannons and fireworks going off.  The timing of the jets, music and lighting was fantastic.  During one of the songs, the water streams actually formed the shape of a heart.  I can’t find enough adjectives to describe how incredible the experience was.  The Bellagio Hotel is also quite an impressive masterpiece to behold.  It is a very beautiful building.  If you ever find yourself in Las Vegas, be sure to walk down the strip and stop in front of the Fountains at the Bellagio.  Pictures and videos just do not do it justice.
