Writing More Hubs is Helping Ad Program Earnings
67I recently decided that I would be spending more time on HubPages and focusing on writing more content. There were several reasons for this which I outlined earlier but the short version is that HubPages traffic has stopped declining and actually been improving for me slowly over the last few months without any effort whatsoever on my part.
I also want to be able to market and tie in some additional articles to my two blogs that I am running where I am getting the majority of my earnings. But one of the major side benefits of this increased effort on HubPages has been an improvement in my HubPages Ad Program earnings.
Improved Earnings in Ad Program
The improved earnings are important because I have some major goals for next year which I will write about in the near future. I want to use the earnings here to be able to cover the costs of my blogs which add up to almost $90 per month. Now, I doubt that I will be able to cover all those costs right away, but it would be nice to be able to do so by the end of 2012.
My blogging costs amount to $9.95 per month hosting through HostGator as well as $20 per article for 4 articles each month at my new blog, Grand Per Month. Now, I haven't been making anywhere close to that amount with HubPages, yet. Last month, I was able to earn $16.35 with the Ad Program. Prior to this month, I had only written 2 Hubs since March.
But this month, I have published 4 Hubs and I have seen some positive results. I have already earned $18.80 this month which is more than last month and is enough to put me over the $50 payout mark for the second time. More importantly, I have had two days in a row now where I have earned over $1 per day with the Ad Program.
The dollar per day mark is significant since I had only had one such day prior to this month during the entire time I have been a member. This bodes well for the possibility of increasing earnings and achieving my goals for HubPages in 2012.
Earning Goals for HubPages
My earnings goals for HubPages, which are part of a bigger plan, start with me making $20 in the month of January and increasing that total by $5 each month throughout the year so that I am making $75 per month by the end of 2012. Now that is probably going to require a growth in traffic so that I am getting about 3 times the amount of traffic I am now, but I have found that if I write more frequently, the level of traffic improves over time.
I don't know that I will get to the point of doing a 30 Hub in 30 day type of challenge although it could be what is necessary to meet my goals. I will be working to write at least every third day on HubPages so that I am publishing 10 articles per month on average and add about 120 articles to my Hub count during the year. Hopefully, this will be enough to increase traffic and exposure on the site and the internet.
I am encouraged by the positive progress that I have seen this month and am looking forward to 2012.

Excellent advice and hub. Here's to you reaching your goals in 2012. Voted up, marked useful and interesting.
Hello Kidgas. If you're willing to do a 30Hub/month challenge or similar and want some healthy, encouraging "competition" I would love to participate.
I think more people posting their results based on their own niche writings and experiences linked together could work and be more appealing for everyone who wants to start writing hubs.
I also was slaggening off all these months. I got disheartened first by the panda and then some other reason. I have decided now to increase my hubs. So lets join the Zuckerman brigade lol
I wish you the best of luck in your success of achieving your goals. I have slacked off, but mostly because I started a new business. Now that winter has set in, business has slowed down, so I am trying to focus on writing more and spending time here on HP. It has been tempting to do the challenge again, but I am afraid of committing to something right now that I may not be able to finish. Great hub! It is encouraging to see other people's traffic coming up.
It is good to see that many people are succeeding on Hubpages!
This is very motivating. Thanks for sharing and best wishes to your writing in 2012!
This Hub of yours will surely help and encourage new hubbers. Voted up.
