Your Blog Should Be on Facebook
By Kidgas
As I work to make some money from blogging, I am trying to market my blog and get as much traffic as possible. As a result, I am paying attention to statistics and traffic sources much more closely than I have in the past. One thing that I have noticed is that Facebook has been becoming an increasingly prominent source of traffic to not only my blogs but to HubPages as well.
When I looked over my stats from January for my newest blog, I noticed that just over 6% of my traffic came from Facebook. I set up a page for the blog and many people liked my blog on Facebook as a result of having that option available as well as due to the fact that it was part of a giveaway that I was promoting.
Nevertheless, the vast majority of those individuals are still a part of the page. I have tried to post some comments about each post that I write for the blog on my Facebook page as well as add the link. People are still using Facebook as a source to get to my blog since over this weekend, it was still responsible for over 3% of my traffic.
Facebook has also become a more noticeable source of traffic to my Hubs. It is in the 20th spot for traffic sources on HubPages and is rapidly moving upward. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the top 15 within a few months.
I also know that I am not using Facebook very effectively and will have to do a little bit of reading to figure out some sound strategies for using the site. My feeling is that as social networking continues to dominate people's time on the internet, Facebook will become an increasingly important source of traffic. There are many blogs out there crying out for attention, so if you can get someone to recommend and link to you on their social network, you have a better chance of being seen.

There are some really social individuals who could generate a lot of traffic if they started writing.
I agree that Facebook is an excellent tool for any online writer. I try to post my new hubs on mine at least once. Voting this Up and Useful.
Interestingly enough, Facebook has just moved into the 19th spot for my traffic referrals on HubPages.
Interesting and useful.
Take care and enjoy your day.

Enjoy your day as well.

Yes Facebook is really a powerful source to gain pageviews etc. I would suggest making as many friends as possible, so you have a wider potential range of visitors.
